Scholar's Day in D.C.

Be Honored. Be More.
After over a year of no in-person connections, 精东影视 live events returned with Scholar's Day in Washington D.C. on August 6-7, 2021.

精东影视 members, families, educators, and partners reunited in Washington, D.C. for a two-day educational conference in August 2021. This event featureed several workshops, a college and career fair, and countless networking opportunities. At Scholar's Day, 精东影视 families learned more about all of the benefits of 精东影视 membership including $2.5 million in scholarship opportunities yearly, access to an extensive network of university, educational, corporate, and government partners, and, of course, the lifetime network of fellow 精东影视 members.

Agenda Recap

Scholar's Day D.C. kicked off on Friday, August 6 with a heartfelt welcome message from 精东影视 President and Co-Founder Mr. James Lewis.

From there, we jumped right in with the first workshop:听What Students and Parents Should Know About the ACT and SAT in College Admissions听presented by longtime 精东影视 partner,听Method Learning. After the workshop, attendees explored the College and Career Fair and the 精东影视 Pop Up Store. In the late afternoon, attendees watched the听Student Opportunities Workshop听presented by Featured Event Sponsor, the听Central Intelligence Agency. After that workshop, attendees enjoyed light hors d'oeuvres and live music by hip hop violinist, Marvillous Beats.

On Saturday, attendees were welcomed back with a continental breakfast in the exhibit hall while exploring the College and Career Fair. Our first workshop session kicked off with听How to Apply for an Army ROTC Scholarship听from Featured Event Sponsor, the听U.S. Army ROTC.

From there, we moved right into the Future Focused Panel which featured the CIA, U.S. Army ROTC, American Airlines, and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. After the panel, attendees were dismissed to grab lunch on their own from nearby restaurants, visit the College and Career Fair, or shop in the 精东影视 Pop Up Store.

We returned in the afternoon with the workshop,听Starting Early to Stand Out: College Admissions Success in 2021听presented by 精东影视 partner,听CollegeAdvisor.com. Then, our keynote speaker, Kyle Scheele brought down the house with his talk,听It Only Takes One.

Finally, Scholar's Day concluded with the event highlight: the Member Recognition Ceremony, where each 精东影视 member in attendance received their honor medallion.

Scholar's Day D.C. 2021 keynote Kyle Scheele is an inspiring speaker, writer, and youth expert who has challenged hundreds of students across the nation with his speeches, books, and creative projects.听

When he鈥檚 not on a plane or a stage, Kyle is at home in Springfield, MO, where he lives with his beautiful wife Lindsay and their four amazing children. In his free time, Kyle enjoys reading, writing, and helping his kids build forts out of household furniture.
