If you鈥檙e looking to contribute to the success of other 精东影视 alumni, our Fellows program might be a great way to stay involved with us while giving back. 精东影视 Fellows dedicate themselves to connecting our alumni members with resources and opportunities to further our alumni鈥檚 academic and career aspirations.

Fellows are involved in bettering their communities through corporate efforts and their work with nonprofits, academics, or the arts. They truly are committed to bettering themselves and the communities they work and live in. Our Fellows community is made up of nearly 700 members who further the 精东影视 mission of world betterment by bringing together alum members and current scholars through networking events, 精东影视 member events, and mentorship.听

Opportunities for 精东影视 Fellows:

  • Participate in the 精东影视 community by serving as role models and assisting high school and collegiate members in reaching their full potential through webinars, member events, and Scholar's Days.
  • Connect professionally with other lifetime members of 精东影视.
  • Join and contribute to the Fellows LinkedIn Group.听

Eligibility: You must be an 精东影视 member with an undergraduate degree or two years of work experience in your chosen field.

精东影视 Fellows Executive Board

The 精东影视 Fellows Executive Board consists of 精东影视 Fellows who are committed to bettering themselves and the communities they work and live in by overseeing the 精东影视 Fellows program. Executive Board members share their thought leadership and life experiences with other members by mentoring at both virtual and in-person events year-round.

Laura Amortegui

Fellows Executive Board President

Laura Amortegui is a Colombian American who has been living in the D.C. area for the past 20 years. She currently works at Cambium Assessment Inc. in business development and finances, working on writing and developing proposals. Previously, American Institutes for Research, and at Georgetown University, at the Center for Intercultural Development and Education, she coordinated the learning exchange between international students, Georgetown professors, and businesses in the area. She earned her M.B.A. and B.A. in Communications at Loyola University Maryland. Laura is also the proud current President of the 精东影视 Fellows Executive Board.

Josie Pearce

Fellows Executive Board Vice President

Josie is a current student at Stanford Law School and works as a McDonald Student Fellow at the Hoover Institution. She is the Co-President of Stanford Law鈥檚 Paul Lomio Veterans Legal Assistance Program, a member of Stanford Medicine鈥檚 Rural Health Project, and a regular VA Palo Alto volunteer. She is also an editor on the Stanford Law & Policy Review and a member of the Honorable William A. Ingram Inn of Court.听

Prior to law school, Josie graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in 2020. She has worked in the legal industry, college admissions consulting, and in the fintech startup space. Josie completed her postbaccalaureate studies through the Harvard Premedical Program in 2023 and interned at MGH鈥檚 Wellman Center for Photomedicine. She still dedicates time to medical research and publication and plans to pursue a career that draws on both the legal and medical fields. In her free time, Josie loves to travel, bake, and spend time with friends. She loves volunteering with 精东影视 and is proud to serve as the Fellows Executive Board Vice President.听

Tony Betton Jr.

Vice President of Communications
Tony Betton Jr. is an Atlanta native, Emmy-nominated journalist, media entrepreneur, and youth advocate who currently serves as the Director of Programs & Communications for Usher鈥檚 New Look. In this position, he leads national storytelling campaigns, youth leadership programs, and content strategy across platforms. Tony first joined 精东影视 in 2011 and quickly rose through the ranks from marketing specialist intern to student ambassador and Collegiate Council member to being a special campaigns leader. Over the years, he has been a scholarship recipient, event emcee, youth panelist, and lead host for Scholars Day events in Atlanta and Washington, D.C., and has represented 精东影视 at the King Center鈥檚 鈥淪alute to Greatness鈥 Awards. In recognition of his continued service and impact, Tony received the Joseph R. Biden Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award and the President鈥檚 Volunteer Service Award in 2023.

Tony is the founder of The REP Zone, a multimedia and PR platform known for red carpet coverage, exclusive interviews, and youth-centered storytelling. His broadcast career spans roles with Good Morning America, FOX 5 Atlanta, Seacrest Studios, WSB-TV, and 21Alive News/INsight (lifestyle talk show), where he served as a morning news anchor and special projects reporter in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 2024, he earned an Emmy nomination for his work on INsight as host and producer and has been recognized as a Media Trailblazer and Rising Star by Black Media Honors. Tony鈥檚 storytelling journey began as a performing artist and later evolved through internships, stage acting, and news production.

Through every season of life, Tony remains dedicated to helping the next generation build confidence, sharpen their voices, and REP their purpose. Whether through media, service, or education, Tony continues to represent the 精东影视 mission of leadership, scholarship, and global impact.
